World No Tobaco Day
World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on May 31. It is meant to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption across the globe. The day is further intended to draw global attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects, which currently lead to 5.4 million deaths worldwide annually. The member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) created World No Tobacco Day in 1987. In the past twenty years, the day has been met with both enthusiasm across the globe from governments, public health organizations, smokers
 
Objectives of World No Tobaco day
To raise awareness about all forms of tobacco: DEADLY IN ANY FORM. Cigarettes, pipes, bidis, kreteks, clove cigarettes, snus, snuff, smokeless forms like gutka, khaini, paan masala with tobacco etc, cigars
To raise awareness about all types and names and flavours; DEADLY IN ANY DISGUISE. Mild, light, low tar, full flavour, fruit flavoured, safer, natural, harm-reduced… they are all deadly
To raise awareness about the need for strict regulation and encourage its implementation.
 
Quit smoking
Deep Breathing Perhaps The Single Most Powerful And Important Technique: Every time you want a cigarette, do the following. Do it three times.
Take more fluids
Stay away from alchohol, sugar and coffee
Use alternate orals substitutes like peppermint etc
Get exercising
Destroy all your cigrates and keep a fresh flower in your ash tray
Affirm yourself
 
Conclusion
Remember that if you quit you will live longer and feel better. Quitting will lower your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, or cancer. The people you live with, especially children, will be healthier. If you are pregnant, you will improve your chances of having a healthy baby. And you will have extra money to spend on things other than cigarettes.
So get the information and support you need to make the stopping process a little easier. Seek the help of family and friends, and most important decide you want to do it and visualize yourself as a non-smoker
